November 17, 2022

Today we are pleased to announce the ‘Level Up Your Startup’ learning series for Indigenous entrepreneurs in partnership with Sklar Wilton & Associates, featuring a series of modules and toolkits to support early-stage Indigenous entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.

Sklar Wilton & Associates is a leading strategy and insights advisory firm that helps CEOs, CMOs, and marketing teams solve tough business challenges to unlock growth and build stronger brands. The firm began its relationship with Pow Wow Pitch in 2021, with staff volunteering as Mentors to support Pow Wow Pitch entrepreneurs prepare to pitch to the judges.

The modules have been designed in partnership with Pow Wow Pitch for Indigenous entrepreneurs, featuring case studies from former Pow Wow Pitch Winners. Each module features a video introduction and a downloadable presentation for Indigenous entrepreneurs to access anytime and work through at their own pace.

“Indigenous entrepreneurs starting businesses today are looking for high-quality, on-demand training and resources that fit with their busy lifestyles and that speak to their priorities and values,” said Sunshine Tenasco, Founder of Pow Wow Pitch. “We loved working alongside Sklar Wilton & Associates to target and tailor these modules to meet the needs of Pow Wow Pitch entrepreneurs. Each module provides world-class strategic insights to help Indigenous entrepreneurs to level up and meet the opportunities ahead.”

The first four modules are: Starting With Purpose, Understanding the Target Audience, the Power of Visual Brand Identity, and Presentation Skills.

“Working with Pow Wow Pitch entrepreneurs over the last year has been an incredible opportunity for our Team and company to live our values and to make a difference with our unique expertise,” said Jennifer Marley, Partner at Sklar Wilton & Associates. “Through this learning series, we prioritized building on the strengths we saw in Indigenous entrepreneurs by focusing first on purpose, community, creative identity and presentation skills. We hope these modules will continue to support Indigenous entrepreneurs on their journey and provide the tools they need to further their businesses. We look forward to hearing their feedback so we can continue to support them with additional learning modules.”
