Canada Post and Pow Wow Pitch partner to support Indigenous entrepreneurs on how to effectively ship and grow their business
Today, Pow Wow Pitch, North America’s premier pitch competition for emerging Indigenous entrepreneurs, announced Canada Post as a Silver Sponsor to support Indigenous entrepreneurs with shipping and logistics solutions to grow their businesses.
Last year, Canada Post joined the Pow Wow Pitch trail for the first time as the competition moved online due to pandemic lockdowns. Pow Wow Pitch attracted record-number participation from Inuit, Metis and First Nations entrepreneurs across Canada by moving the competition digitally.
Canada Post supported the adjudication of the pitch competition, announcing the 3rd Prize to Maya Beaudry, Founder of Kokom Scrunchies and supporting the Pow Wow Pitch Boxes filled with Indigenous-made products to reach more than 125 customers.
“With pow wow cancellations and lockdowns, vendors have had to sell online and ship their products to their customers,” said Sunshine Tenasco, Founder of Pow Wow Pitch and an Annishnebeg entrepreneur and author from the Kitigan Zibi First Nation. “With Canada Post’s support, we are launching education tools to help Indigenous makers, creators, artists and entrepreneurs across Turtle Island build and optimize their shipping and logistics processes to grow.”
This year, Pow Wow Pitch has also expanded with an Indigenous Startup Program, a Podcast Series and Awards to complement the Pitch competition.
Canada Post is proud to support Pow Wow Pitch by partnering on webinars, adjudicating the pitch competition, and contributing prize dollars for winning entrepreneurs.
